Birth Anniversary Of Savitribai Phule : A Pioneer In Women's Education
“ Lady Teacher of India
Savitribai Phule
Indian Educationalist ”
The lamp of education that she lighted so many years earlier,
Is enlightening millions of our daughters today……
Today 3rd January is the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule.
In the era, when no importance was given to girl’s education, Savitribai Phule always wanted to change this situation of women, she thought of distributing education to other girls, and so she became the first female teacher of India.
She also served as the social reformer, educationalist and poet in India. It is a great pride to say that her birthplace was Naigaon, it is situated in the Satara District in Maharashtra.
She played an important role in improving women’s rights in India. She raised her voice against the social injustice done to women. The untouchability was also one type of social crime which was running in those days. Savitribai even dug a well in her hose so that the untouchables can come and fetch water.
Savitribai Phule used to write poems against the discrimination made to the girl child. She was the real iron lady, she held the courage to fight for girl’s education. A great salute to a great lady!

“Balika Divas” is celebrated on 3rd January to commemorate the woman who pioneered women education in India.
Girl is the Nation’s Pride. She is the Future.
Empowering your girl child is empowering your future.
